All On Four İmplant

In cases where the jaw bone is too eroded, the patient is not keen on advanced surgery and wants a fixed prosthesis to be made quickly, all on four treatments can be applied. Thanks to these treatments, 6 implants in the upper jaw and 4 implants in the lower jaw may be sufficient for fixed prosthesis construction. Thus, temporary fixed prostheses can be applied to patients on the same day without undergoing complicated surgeries. After waiting for approximately 2-3 months, temporary prostheses can be removed and replaced with permanent fixed prostheses.

The All on Four technique is not a new technique. It is a scientifically proven technique that has been used and studied for over 20 years. Thanks to this technique, the use of angled implants to avoid anatomical formations does not cause any problems. In fact, implants that are applied inclined in the back areas and vertically in the front areas are mostly used.

How is All On Four Treatment Done?

As before every treatment, the patient’s systemic condition, clinical and radiological examination, and patient expectations are evaluated and a personalized treatment plan is prepared. If the all on four technique is decided, 3D imaging techniques are used to precisely detect the areas where implant placement is planned. After deciding on the implant placement areas, implant size and angle, the first thing to do is to measure the patient and make temporary prostheses for the patient.

By applying local anesthesia, if the patient has teeth that need to be extracted, they are removed and then the implants are placed. After the implants are placed, a new measurement is taken from the patient and the temporary prostheses are adapted and fixed to the newly made implants.

After implants and temporary prostheses are applied, the patient is prescribed some medications and is asked to use them regularly. It is recommended to avoid very hot foods and drinks for several days. It is important not to consume very hard foods during this period. Because excessive load on newly made implants may reduce the success of the treatment. As always, oral care should be taken seriously during this period and check-ups should be done on time.

The biggest advantage of the all on four technique is that it offers the patient the opportunity to have a fixed prosthesis made on the same day. Thus, the patient’s satisfaction increases by replacing the lost function and aesthetics.

Who Can Get All On Four Treatment?

All on four treatment can be applied to individuals who are toothless or close to being toothless, who do not have a systemic condition that prevents implants, and who have enough bone to place 6 implants in the upper jaw and at least 4 implants in the lower jaw. It is recommended that patients who receive temporary fixed dentures on the day of implant application be fed soft foods for a while. Patients receive their permanent fixed prosthesis after approximately 3 months and can return to their usual diet.

What are the advantages of All On Four Treatment?

The biggest advantage of the All on Four treatment is that the patient gets implants and fixed prostheses, albeit temporary, on the same day. Another advantage is that implants can be made without requiring advanced surgical techniques. Allowing the construction of fixed prostheses provides a very good alternative for patients who cannot use removable prostheses. Since the fixed prostheses do not extend to the palate area, the patient’s ability to tolerate the prostheses is higher. Cleaning and maintenance is very easy. An aesthetic smile can be achieved. Having fixed prostheses increases self-confidence and satisfaction.
