About
Uzm. Dt. Merve Özkan Akagündüz was born in Edirne in 1988. After graduating from Edirne Anadolu Teachers’ High School in 2006, she began her studies at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Dentistry in 2007 and graduated in 2012, earning the title of dentist.
Beginning her career as a general dentist at a private clinic in Istanbul, Dr. Akagündüz ranked 28th nationally in the Specialty Examination in Dentistry (DUS) in 2014, gaining admission to specialty training in the Department of Orthodontics at Süleyman Demirel University.
After completing her orthodontics specialty training in 2019, she served as an orthodontics specialist at Çorlu Oral and Dental Health Centre; during this period she built up extensive patient experience and continued active clinical practice throughout the pandemic.
Between 2022 and 2024, Dr. Akagündüz worked at a private clinic in Istanbul. In 2024 she founded Özel Dore Oral and Dental Health Clinic, where she has been seeing patients at her own clinic ever since.
In orthodontics, she focuses on clear aligner treatment (Invisalign), fixed orthodontic treatment, and digital orthodontics, aiming for aesthetically and functionally balanced outcomes with planning tailored to each patient.
